Holy Hell it’s been hot! It sure was easy last September to say “Ah we don’t need A/C in the house! We hardly ever use it anyway!” It sure was easy last November to say “Ah I don’t need A/C in the car! I hardly ever use it anyway!”

It hasn’t been all that bad though, and to beat the heat we’ve been taking advantage of having all our great friends and family!

We got in some great beach days last weekend, even though my dad put his beach chair with these other people. Later that night we also hit cousin Kelsey‘s graduation party. She’ll be playing field hockey at West Chester next year, and I can’t wait to sneak out of work early and catch a few games.

Speaking of West Chester, next Saturday night is the Iron Hill Twilight Criterium. It’s my biggest race of the year and probably the most fun to watch since the race loops right through downtown West Chester under the street lights and roar of thousands of drunk people.

This weekend is the July 4 holiday though, and we’ve done our best to celebrate America with our favorite un-American stuff.

Cycling: (it was Patrick’s birthday too)

It wasn’t all un-American though, and we gladly spent yesterday afternoon and evening with Wyatt and Kristin smoking ribs, drinking beers, and watching fireworks.

You just gotta ignite the light
and let it shine.
Just own the night
like the Fourth of July,

Cause baby you’re a firework!
